Cookie policy
Which cookies and browser storage Epliv uses, why, for how long — and how you choose.

1. In short
Epliv uses only what the website and the app need to work, plus two small optional things you can switch on or off. We use no advertising cookies, no tracking or analytics cookies and no social media pixels, and we never sell information about you. You choose in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Many countries have laws about cookies and similar technologies — for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and California. We follow the strictest of these rules for everyone: what is not needed for the service runs only with your agreement.
2. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser. Browser storage (local storage and session storage) works in a similar way. Session storage is deleted when you close the tab; cookies and local storage stay until they expire or you delete them.
3. Strictly necessary (always on)
These are needed for the service you ask for, so they cannot be switched off:
- Sign-in cookie on app.epliv.com (named oa_session): keeps you signed in to your account. It cannot be read by scripts, is only sent over a secure connection, and ends when you sign out or after 168 hours.
- Your cookie choice on epliv.com (browser storage, named epliv-consent): remembers what you chose in the cookie banner, so we do not ask on every page. It is kept for 12 months; then we ask again.
- Your language and colour theme in the app (browser storage, named language and theme): remember the language and look you chose, until you change them or clear your browser.
- Your agreement to the map for this visit (session storage, named epliv-map): when you press "Show the map", the map stays open while you browse; deleted when you close the tab.
To show the opportunities picked for your country, our server looks up the country of your internet (IP) address in a database on our own server. Nothing is saved in your browser for this, the address is not kept, and we only count visits per country.
4. Preferences (optional)
- Film sound on the home page (session storage, named epliv-film-sound): remembers during your visit whether you turned the sound of the home page film on. Without your agreement the film starts silent on every page.
5. Map (optional)
The map pictures come from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your browser asks OpenStreetMap's servers for the pictures, so OpenStreetMap receives your internet address — see the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. If you agree to "Map" in Cookie settings, the map opens without asking each time; otherwise we ask you on the map page first. We never send OpenStreetMap your location — "Use my exact location" stays in your browser.
6. Payments
When you buy a plan you pay on Stripe's own page. Stripe uses its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud — see Stripe's cookie policy. Epliv does not set or read them.
7. The phone app
The Epliv phone app uses no cookies. It keeps your sign-in in the phone's secure storage until you sign out.
8. Your choices
- Use the buttons in the cookie banner: Accept all, Necessary only, or Choose to decide one by one.
- Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. A choice you withdraw takes effect from then on.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as "Necessary only" and do not show the banner.
- You can also delete cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. If you delete the sign-in cookie you will need to sign in again.
9. Changes and contact
